Summary

A STATIC HEAT PUMP MODEL IS ADOPTED AND THE SIMULATION RESULTS ARE USED TO ESTABLISH A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE COP AND EVAPORATOR AND CONDENSER TEMPERATURES. THESE TWO TEMPERATURES ARE ALMOST EQUIVALENT TO THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL TEMPERATURE. THE ANNUAL CUMULATIVE COST OF HEATING THE HOUSE WITH A HEAT PUMP SYSTEM IS COMPARED WITH THE COST OF USING ELECTRIC HEATERS. TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE GROWTH OF FUEL COST, PROVIDES THE ANNUAL AND TOTAL COST OF RUNNING THE SYSTEM AND CALCULATES THE PAYBACK TIME OF THE INVESTMENT FOR THE HEAT PUMP SYSTEM.
