Summary

ABSORPTION-DIFFUSION REFRIGERATING MACHINES APPEAR TO BE WELL ADAPTED TO SOLAR DRIVING. IN THESE SYSTEMS, THE HEAT ENERGY SUPPLY HAS TWO ROLES: REGENERATION OF THE SOLUTION AND ITS PUMPING BY A GAS-LIFT SYSTEM. ANY SIMULATION REQUIRES KNOWLEDGE OF THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE SYSTEM, MAINLY ITS OPERATING LIMITS. AFTER A TEST STUDY OF THIS TYPE OF SYSTEM, THE RESULTS ARE EXTRAPOLATED TO THE AMMONIA-SODIUM THIOCYANATE SYSTEM WITH A VIEW TO THE SIMULATION OF A SOLAR COLLECTOR-REFRIGERATING MACHINE COMBINATION. DIFFERENT CASES WERE TREATED, FOR A GIVEN SITE, AND THE EFFECT OF A NUMBER OF PARAMETERS WAS CONSIDERED.
