Summary

OWING TO THE PROBLEM OF THE RATIONAL USE OF ENERGY IN THE BUILDING SECTOR, IT IS NOWADAYS NECESSARY TO CONSIDER THE STRUCTURE OF THE BUILDING AND ITS THERMODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS IN AN INTEGRATED WAY AND NOT SEPARATELY. THIS GENERAL DESIGN IS APPLIED TO A BUILDING WITH WALLS MADE OF GLASS AND ALUM THE AUTHORS PRESENT THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WALL, THE ENERGY BALANCE AND THE SOLUTIONS ADOPTED FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT OF A TOWER BUILT IN CAGLIARI IN 1980.
