Criterion for quantum turbulence onset after rectangular heat pulse in superfluid helium.
Author(s) : WANG R.
Type of article: Article
Summary
It is possible to determine the time needed to initiate quantum turbulence in the helium II bath after a rectangular heat pulse. It is found that the criterion value in a helium II bath is much smaller than that for helium II confined in small channels. A strong pressure effect is also exhibited.
