Cryogenic distribution system for FAIR.

Author(s) : KAUSCHKE M., XIANG Y., SCHROEDER C. H., et al.

Summary

The Facility of Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) will be an extension of the existing heavy ion accelerator at Gesellschaft fuer Schwerionenforschung (GSI), Darmstadt. FAIR will contain two synchrotrons, four storage rings and approximately 1.4 km of beam transport, requiring different types of magnets and cooling regimes. One main feature of FAIR is to provide a very wide range of experimental beams in high variety of operational cycles. These cycles cause dynamic loads between 0 and 200% of the static loads.
