Summary

SINCE 1971, CRYOSURGERY HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY APPLIED TO 88 CASES IN WHICH MALIGNANT LESIONS HAVE NOT BEEN SUCCESSFULLY CONTROLLED BY OTHER METHODS: HEAD AND NECK (22 CASES), BREAST (20 CASES), ANO-RECTAL (19 CASES), SKIN (21 CASES), LIVER (4 CASES) AND BONE (2 CASES). IT WAS ESPECIALLY EFFECTIVE IN THE TREATMENT OF ANO-RECTAL, SKIN AND LIVER CANCERS. SUCCESSFULL APPLICATIONS OF CRYOSURGERY IN OTHER DOMAINS IN JAPAN WERE: NEUROSURGERY, UROLOGY, GYNECOLOGY, ORTHOPEDICAL SURGERY, OPHTHALMOLOGY AND OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY.
