Author(s) : LE PIVERT P.

Summary

FROM 1976 TO 1986, 4,000 PATIENTS WITH VASCULAR INFECTIOUS, INFLAMMATORY, BENIGN OR MALIGNANT TUMOURAL DISEASES WERE TREATED. NEW CRYOINSTRUMENTS IN EXTERNAL OR ENDOSCOPIC SITUATIONS WERE USED. CRYOTHERAPY WAS APPLIED AS THE ONLY TREATMENT OR IN COMBINATION WITH CLASSICALMETHODS. THE TREATMENTS WERE DONE ON AN OUT-PATIENT BASIS OR DURING SHORT HOSPITAL STAYS MOSTLY UNDER LOCAL ANAESTHESIA. FROM THE RESULTS THE AUTHOR CONSIDERS CRYOTHERAPY AS AN EFFICIENT, LOW-PRICED AND MATURE METHOD IN THE PROCTOLOGICALFIELD.
