Summary
The authors describe methods of removing frost (defrost) which generates on the heat transfer surface of the air cooler. The defrost method is roughly classified into 4 categories: off-cycle, electric heating, water spray, and hot gas. Regarding the hot gas defrost method, 5 ways are described and it is understood that each make has its distinctive features in terms of control mechanism and piping installation.
