Demystifying temperature glide.
[In Danish. / En danois.]
Author(s) : MORLEY J. R.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Many of the new alternative refrigerants are not single component refrigerants, nor true azeotropes. Temperature glide will not affect the operation of most systems. There is, however, a specific group of applications for which the use of refrigerants with a glide of greater than around 2 K should be evaluated carefully (these applications are those which involve the use of flooded evaporators). The article explains how the temperature glide affects a refrigeration system; how to use refrigerants with temperature glide to best advantage and when to avoid them.
