THE LARGEST WEAVING FACTORY WAS CONSTRUCTED IN SHANTOU, CHINA, IN 1986. IN ORDER TO MEET THE AIR CONDITIONING REQUIREMENT OF THE FACTORY, LOCATED IN A ZONE WITH HIGH RELATIVE HUMIDITY, A CLOSED WATER CIRCUIT AND AN EVAPORATION SYSTEM WERE ADOPTED. ENERGY SAVING, INCLUDING THE DECREASE IN ELECTRICAL POWER CONSUMPTION BY MEANS OF THE DOUBLE-EFFECT VAPOUR ABSORPTION COOLER, IS EXPLAINED AND THE PRACTICAL OPERATING RESULTS ARE PRESENTED.
