Summary

A novel multilayer desiccant bed dehumidifier having no polymer binder to disperse the sorbents within the bed was designed tailored to combine with a classical vapor compression system to attain higher moisture removal capacity in an energy efficient manner. Experiments were conducted and the new device showed better sorption and heat transport capacity with lower pressure drop over the traditional wheel type desiccant systems.
