Numerical study on internally cooled-heated dehumidifier/regenerator of liquid desiccant cooling system.

Author(s) : YIN Y., ZHANG X. S.

Summary

The internally cooled dehumidifier and internally heated regenerator are new types of equipment applied to liquid desiccant system involving heat and mass transfer. The unitized model for the internally cooled dehumidifier and internally heated regenerator is presented. Performance of the new type of dehumidifier and regenerator could be predicted according the mathematics. Effects of inlet parameters such as the temperature, humidity rate and flow rate of the air, temperature and concentration of the solution, temperature of coolant and heated water on the outlet parameters will be discussed. The results show that the heat and mass transfer are enhanced and the performance of the new type dehumidifier and regenerator are better than the traditional adiabatic ones.
