DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS FOR ELECTRONIC EVAPORATOR CONTROLS.

Author(s) : VALBJORN K. V.

Summary

THE INTRODUCTION OF MICROPROCESSORS PROVIDES THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL OF EXPANSION VALVES. IN THE TRANSITION OF NEW TECHNOLOGY THERE ARE VARIOUS SOLUTIONS WHICH EVENTUALLY CONVERGE TOWARDS ONE OR A SMALL NUMBER OF SOLUTIONS. TIME-PROPORTIONAL VALVES HAVE NUMEROUS ADVANTAGES. THE AUTHOR DEALS WITH THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: CONTROL RANGE, PULSATIONS IN THE LIQUID LINE, PULSATIONS IN THE EVAPORATOR, THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COEFFICIENT UNDER PULSATION, LIFE EXPECTANCY. HE CONCLUDES THAT TIME PROPORTIONAL EXPANSION CONTROL MAY BE AN INTERESTING SOLUTION, AT LEAST FOR COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION PLANT.
