Dynamic behaviour of the evaporator of a refrigerating machine subjected to flow variations.

Comportement dynamique d'un évaporateur de machine frigorifique soumis à des variations de débit.

Summary

To manufacture the control device of an electronic expansion valve operating in a variable-speed refrigerating installation, it is necessary to determine the transfer function of the evaporator. This is determined for each operating point through step-by-step excitations of the flow of fluid into the evaporator. The behaviour of the evaporator is represented by a first-order transfer function with a pure delay. The parameters identified in this way diminish as the evaporating temperature and the rotating speed of the compressor rises. This development has led to the adoption of adaptive algorithms for controlling the expansion valve.
