Summary

A TUBE-IN-TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER WITH INNER TUBE MADE OF COPPER AND OUTER TUBE MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL WAS FABRICATED. COPPER WIRE SCREENS, SEPARATED BY RINGS MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL, WERE PACKED IN THE INNER TUBE AS WELL AS IN THE ANNULAR SPACE. THE RESULTS OBTAINED DURING TESTING ARE PRESENTED AND COMPARED WITH THE PREDICTIONS BASED ON EMPIRICAL CORRELATIONS AVAILABLE IN THE LITERATURE.
