Summary

THE PAPER PRESENTS 2 COMPUTER PROGRAMS, PROSIM FOR SIMULATING REFRIGERATION PLANTS, AND EVAC FOR SIMULATING AIR COOLING EVAPORATORS. THE GOAL IS TO SHOW THE POTENTIAL OF THE PROGRAMS TO HANDLE A BROAD RANGE OF DESIGN PROBLEMS, INVOLVING TOPOLOGY/GEOMETRY, WORKING MEDIA AND OPERATING CONDITIONS. A NUMBER OF EXAMPLES IS INCLUDED TO ILLUSTRATE THE POSSIBILITIES. BOTH PROGRAMS ARE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE AS VAX-AND PC-VERSION EQUIPPED WITH A MENU BASED INTERFACE TO FACILITATE USER INTERACTION.
