Design strategies for reducing performance degradation due to frosting of display case heat exchangers.
Author(s) : VERMA P., BULLARD C. W., HRNJAK P. S.
Summary
In order to optimize the energy performance of display cabinets, various solutions are suggested, including: a longer period of use before defrosting the air chillers; fin staging with a decreasing fin pitch between inlet and outlet. These solutions were identified following the implementation of a validated operating model and subsequent experiments.
