Summary
An innovative open-type medium temperature display case has been designed for a European manufacturer. The main innovations are: heat exchanger shelves, 2 controlled temperature air curtains, defrosting operating without raising air temperature, automatic night curtain. The air handling design of air curtains has been developed using global mass, species and energy balances. The method permits to analyse the room air infiltration and to define optimal refrigerating capacity of the external air curtain.
