Development and demonstration of an evaporative cooler simulation model for the BLAST energy analysis computer program.

Summary

The paper presents the development of five evaporative cooler configurations for the Building Loads Analysis and System Thermodynamics (BLAST) energy analysis program. The models make it possible to analyze direct, wet-and dry-coil indirect, and two-stage configurations of indirect and direct evaporative coolers in an hour-by-hour annual energy analysis program. The paper shows the development of the models and their functional relationship to fan system operation.
