EVALUATION OF EVAPORATIVE COOLING FOR DAIRY CATTLE IN ARID CLIMATES.

Author(s) : WAKED A. M.

Summary

BASED ON THE RESULTS OF STUDY, THE USE OF EVAPORATIVE COOLING IS RECOMMENDED TO SIGNIFICANTLY SHORTEN THE PERIODS OF HEAT STRESS YEAR-ROUND. WITH AN EVAPORATIVE COOLING EFFICIENCY OF 80%, COMFORT CONDITIONS COULD BE ACHIEVED FOR AT LEAST 75% OF THE YEAR. DURING THE REMAINING DAYS, HEAT STRESS CONDITIONS WILL NOT BE AS SEVERE AS THEY USUALLY ARE WITHOUT COOLING.
