TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF HOME APPLIANCES IT IS BECOMING IMPORTANT TO OPTIMIZE THE DESIGN OF THE TOTAL HEATING SYSTEM, WHICH INCLUDES THE FURNACE AND THE DISTRIBUTION AND CONTROL SYSTEMS. THIS PAPER PRESENTS A DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEM CONCEPT AND THE MAJOR COMPONENTS, WHICH INCLUDE A UNIQUE, HIGH EFFICIENCY HEAT PIPE FURNACE ; A NOVEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, WITH INDIVIDUAL THERMOSTATICALLY CONTROLLED ROOM DIFFUSERS ; AND A CONTROL SYSTEM THAT PROVIDES MAXIMUM FURNACE EFFICIENCY AND ALLOWS FOR INDIVIDUAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL IN EACH ROOM.
