Development of a pre-industrial prototype of an air-cooled H2O-LiBr absorption chiller.

Author(s) : CASTRO J., OLIET C., OLIVA A., et al.

Summary

Due to the increasing cooling demand for air conditioning in the Southern European countries, together with the increasing price of the energy, there is an interesting potential market for solar driven low capacity air-conditioning systems in this geographical area. Taking advantage of the previous experiences in the development of a laboratory prototype of air-cooled H2O-LiBr absorption chiller, the development of a pre-industrial absorption chiller, closer to the final design is being carried out. The different steps/tasks of development are explained. Finally, a description of the present pre-industrial prototype developed is showed with its design specifications.
