Summary
A model of absorption chillers and heat pumps is proposed that reduces their operating characteristics into two simple algebraic equations: one for the capacity and one for the COP. These equations still contain, in a slightly simplified form, the complete thermodynamic information of the systems and they can be solved analytically. Possibilities and limits of this modelling are given.
