DEVELOPMENT OF AN AIR-COOLED DOUBLE-EFFECT GAS-FIRED ABSORPTION WATER CHILLER/HEATER.

Type of article: Article
Summary
IF THE ABSORPTION CYCLE TEMPERATURE IS HIGH, THE SOLUTION CONCENTRATION IS AT THE POINT OF CRYSTALLIZATION AND THE CORROSIVENESS OF LITHIUM BROMIDE TO STEEL IS INCREASED. THIS CYCLE LIES BEYOND THE LIMITS OF PRACTICAL USE. IF THE EFFICIENCY OF THE HEAT EXCHANGE OF AN AIR-COOLED ABSORBER IS LOW, THE MACHINE BECOMES TOO LARGE. THE AUTHOR SUCCEEDED IN DEVELOPING AN AIR-COOLED, DOUBLE-EFFECT, GAS-FIRED ABSORPTION WATER CHILLER/HEATER BY UTILISING AN AIR-COOLED ABSORBER WITH THE FUNCTION OF AN IDEAL COUNTERFLOW HEAT EXCHANGE. HE CONSTRUCTED A 70 KILOWATT MACHINE AND CONDUCTEDA FIELD TEST IN THE SUMMER OF 1987.
