Development of high-performance scroll compressors used for marine container refrigeration units.

Author(s) : YOSHIDA Y., YOSHIMURA K., KATO R., et al.

Summary

The authors have completed the development of new high-performance scroll compressors by upgrading existing air-conditioners' scroll compressors as follows: 1) application of anti-corrosion paint, which improves corrosion resistance; 2) development of a high-strength casing structure, which endures 50G impact strength; 3) using a gas injection system, the frozen mode (-18 to -29 °C) evaporating temperature range capacity has been boosted by a factor of 1.3.
