Summary

Alkylbenzenes, which are immiscible or barely miscible with HFC refrigerants, are chemically stable and show better anti-wear properties than polyolesters and polyvinylethers. The authors developed a 2-cylinder rotary compressor using alkylbenzene for residential split air conditioners with R410A, and achieved the improvement of capillary tube closing and lubrication on flood-back condition. This system is more reliable than the previous R22 system.
