Summary
The paper describes a new technology for capacity modulation, which is fundamentally different from the traditional inverter technology. It is unique, reliable and very simple to apply. Capacity modulation in the digital scroll compressor is achieved by the time averaging of a "loaded state" and "unloaded state". The paper explains how these states are physically obtained in the digital scroll compressor. It also describes the advantages of using this system as well as the future advances of this technology by using R410A and vapour injection.
