Summary
The paper analyzes the current problems caused by unreasonable design, with practical engineering of high office buildings in China as examples, including: energy consumption of air-conditioning systems; running costs; initial costs of air-conditioning systems designed by overseas firms (higher than those of traditional systems); uncontrollable thermal environments in interior zones in winter; imbalance of air systems; difficulty adjusting VAV systems. The paper presents some solutions enabling solving of these problems.
