Summary

The heat transfer and fluid dynamics of a two-stage plastic cryocooler with gap regenerator were analyzed. Considering the interstage heat flow in a multistage cryocooler, the calculation equations for the refrigerating capacity and cold losses were given. Adopting the lowest temperature of the second stage as an objective function, the relations of the refrigerating temperature and input power to the diameter ratio and length ratio of the displacer were studied.
