Type of article: Article

Summary

The common mixing design principle was compared to the displacement principle. In terms of supplying fresh air to the zone of occupancy, the displacement system was better than the mixing system by a factor of two. In terms of the exposure level to a simulated contaminant (tracer gas), the displacement system was better by a factor of 1.5-1.8.
