DROPWISE CONDENSATION HEAT TRANSFER ON A HORIZONTAL TUBE.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE PURPOSE OF THE PAPER IS TO INVESTIGATE THE RELATION BETWEEN THE BEHAVIOUR OF DEPARTING DROPS AND THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT ON A HORIZONTAL TUBE. LOCAL HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS ON THE TUBE, WHICH HAD RELATIVE VALUES TO THE COEFFICIENT ON THE VERTICAL SURFACE, WERE ANALYTICALLY OBTAINED BY INTRODUCING AN ESSENTIAL MODEL FOR THE CYCLE OF DROP DEPARTURE. FURTHERMORE, HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS ON THE COPPER TEST TUBE WERE OBTAINED EXPERIMENTALLY, AND EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS WERE FOUND TO BE IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH CALCULATED ONES. THE EFFECTS OF THE BEHAVIOUR OF DEPARTING DROPS ON THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT WERE CLARIFIED.
