Summary
HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT IN GRAVITY CONTROLLED CONDENSATION ON A HORIZONTAL TUBE IS ENHANCED BY COILING A WIRE AROUND THE TUBE, BECAUSE THE CONDENSATE FILM BETWEEN THE COILED WIRES IS THIN. AN ANALYTICAL SOLUTION IS DERIVED FROM SIMPLIFIED SIMULTANEOUS DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS. TWO COEFFICIENTS WHICH ARE CONTAINED IN THE SOLUTION ARE DETERMINED FROM EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS FOR R11 AND ETHANOL VAPOURS. (BULL. JSME, JP., 29, N 249, 1986/03, 1069.
