Dryout in horizontal two-phase flow.

Author(s) : SHEDD T. A., NEWELL T. A.

Summary

Dryout in horizontal two-phase flow appears to occur under three primary influences: gravity, heat flux and vapour shear, or a combination of these factors. A study of adiabatic dryout is presented based on a large database of liquid film thickness data obtained for air-water two-phase flow through smooth and micro-grooved round tubes of varying diameters, as well as for square and triangular tubes.
