Dynamic modelling and simulation of LNG plants.

Author(s) : MELAAEN E.

Summary

The baseload LNG plant is one of the worlds largest refrigeration plants. Simulation of such plants give large challenges, but also large possibilities for the future. The liquefaction section in the process is modelled dynamically. Each unit in the process is described by an equation system based on conservation balances and algebraic relations. The equations for the whole process are solved simultaneously by a differential-algebraic equation-solver. Simulation results are presented and the validity of the model is discussed.
