Dynamic modelling of a liquid absorption system.

Author(s) : WILLERS E., GROLL M., KULICK C., et al.

Summary

A novel double-lift ammonia-water chiller has been simulated. Models for the key components desorber, low-pressure absorber, high-pressure absorber, condenser and evaporator have been developed and tested. A complete system has been simulated in order to find suitable control strategies. In the simulation, a cooling temperature of -20 °C has been achieved with a cooling water temperature of 15 °C and a driving heat temperature of 75 °C (COP is about 0.27). Under normal conditions, i.e. at cooling temperatures of about 5 to 7 °C, the COP is about 0.42.
