Summary
This document consists of a course and corrected exercises. The course includes a classification of heat exchangers as well as the market and applications for these exchangers. It also covers the fundamental dimensions of heat exchangers and their sizing. As heat exchange always occurs by convection, a few Nusselt formulae are presented, which are suitable for most of the geometric configurations of exchangers found in refrigeration and air-conditioning installations. Only tube or double-tube exchangers, tube bundles or shell-and-tube exchangers are discussed here. This document ends with corrected exercises.
