Summary

The influence of flux jump on the temperature distributions is studied in high temperature superconducting slab. The thermomagnetic diffusion equations based on the dynamic process of thermomagnetic interaction are presented in this paper to estimate the effect of flux jump on the temperature inside the slab and the changes of the surface temperature in the flux jump process. Numerical results obtained show that the temperature distributions are significantly affected by flux jump. It is intended that flux jump analysis presented here be useful to researchers interested in thermomagnetic characteristics. [Reprinted with permission from Elsevier. Copyright, 2010].
