IN ORDER TO OBTAIN FLORAL INDUCTION OF PERILLA OCYMOIDES L. IN NON INDUCTIVE PHOTOPERIODIC CONDITIONS, AERIAL PARTS AND ROOTS HAVE TO BE SUBMITTED SIMULTANEOUSLY TO A LOW TEMPERATURE (5 C). HOWEVER, PHOTOPERIODIC INDUCTION TREATMENTS, THE PERIODS OF WHICH ARE SHORTER THAN MINIMAL INDUCTION TIME, REVEALED THE IMPORTANCE OF THE EFFECT OF A LOW TEMPERATURE, ESPECIALLY WHEN APPLIED ON AERIAL PARTS OF PLANTS ; THE FUNCTION OF ROOT SYSTEM, IN THIS CASE, APPEARS LIMITED.
