EFFECT OF PRESSURE RATIO ACROSS INLET NOZZLE ON ENERGY SEPARATION IN A VORTEX TUBE.

Author(s) : LIN S., FU L., YU X.

Summary

THE PROCESS OF ENERGY SEPARATION IN A VORTEX TUBE WITH AIR AS A WORKING MEDIUM AND WITH VARIABLE INLET PRESSURES WAS EXPERIMENTALLY STUDIED. THE COLD AIR TEMPERATURE DROP AS A FUNCTION OF THE PRESSURE RATIO ACROSS THE INLET NOZZLE WAS MEASURED. THE PRESSURE RATIO ACROSS THE INLET NOZZLE USED AS AN INDEPENDENT VARIABLE HAS THE ADVANTAGE OF EXPLAINING AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE PHYSICAL PHENOMENA INVOLVED IN THE COMPLEX PROCESS OF ENERGY SEPARATION IN A VORTEX TUBE.
