THE NEW DIN STANDARD (45 646) SPECIFIES TEST BENCH MEASUREMENTS ON SOUND ABSORPTION EFFICIENCY, AIR FLOW NOISE AND PRESSURE LOSS IN SOUND ABSORBERS USED IN AIR CONDITIONING AND VENTILATING INSTALLATIONS. THIS STANDARD RECOMMENDS 3 STEPS OF SOUND ABSORPTION MEASUREMENTS ALTHOUGH USERS MAY FIND OTHER BAND WIDTHS BETTER SUITED TO THEIR PURPOSES. THE MEASURED LEVELS DEPEND UPON THE SPECTRUM OF THE NOISE FIELD TO BE ATTENUATED AS ALSO ON THE FILTER BAND WIDTH TO ANALYSE THE SIGNAL OF THE MICROPHONE.
