Summary
Results of the present study suggested that oxygenation during the initial perfusion was effective in maintaining the viability of the liver, in terms of the energy metabolism. Electron microscopic examination also demonstrated preventive effects of the oxygenation on progression of the degeneration process of the mitochondoria of the hepatocytes.
