Efficient use of waste heat from combined heat and power systems.

Author(s) : WU S., EAMES I. W.

Summary

An exergy concept is used to analyses the factors that affects the energy efficiency of the system. Combining two-temperature heat sources (exhaust gas and cooling jacket water) into one by a heat exchanger in order to use a conventional double-effect lithium bromide/water absorption refrigerator is not a good idea. More efficient designs are proposed.
