Summary
A new ejector refrigeration cycle is proposed to improve the COP of the conventional ejector refrigeration cycle by using an additional jet pump instead of the throttling device. The jet pump can reduce the energy loss of throttling process and recover some of the kinetic energy of the throttling process to pressurize the secondary fluid of the ejector. Through the action of the jet pump the secondary fluid pressure is enhanced, the entrainment ratio of the ejector is increased and then the COP of the cycle is improved. The theoretical analysis and simulating calculation was carried out for the new cycle with the refrigerant R-152a. The effects of some main parameters on the entrainment ratio and the COP of the cycle are also investigated and compared with that of the conventional cycle. The analysis results show that the COP of the new cycle can be improved by 7.0-14.6% over that of the conventional cycle.
