AS ELECTRICAL ENERGY CONSUMERS GENERALLY PAY AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR A POWER FACTOR LOWER THAN THE CONTRACTUAL ONE, IT CAN BE WORTHWHILE TO PROVIDE FOR A CORRECTION. THE PAPER DEALS WITH A PRACTICAL CASE CONCERNING THE ELECTRICAL PLANT OF A COLD STORE EQUIPPED WITH A CONDENSER SYSTEM TO RAISE THE POWER FACTOR FROM 0.8 TO 0.9-0.95. DETAILED INFORMATION IS GIVEN ON THE CIRCUIT DESIGN AND THE SAVINGS OBTAINED, BOTH FOR LOWER ENERGY COSTS AND FOR REDUCING ELECTRICAL LOSSES. E. F.
