Summary
The authors show the advantage of using refrigerating machines for the simultaneous obtaining of heat and cold. Results are presented of a study on a heat pump for heating and cooling. The variation in the COP of the heat pump is analyzed as a function of the hot-water temperature and of the coolant for the specific case of a plant with a reciprocating compressor using R22. This coefficient varies from 2.6 to 11.2. To determine the rational operating temperatures, a "fuel saving index" was used, which varies between 1.12 and 4.85. C.C.
