Summary
The efficient use of steam at temperatures above the typical operating conditions of liquid sorption cycles is possible when a steam turbine is included as first expansion stage. The turbine drives the turbo-compressor of a cold vapour cycle. After expanding to a selected backpressure, the steam is condensed in a single- or double-stage absorption chiller.
