Summary

THE EXISTING METHODS OF THERMAL CAPACITY REDUCTION FOR RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS FOR REFRIGERATION ARE EXAMINED WITH PARTICULAR INTEREST FOR THOSE THERMODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS WHICH MAY AFFECT THE ENERGETIC BEHAVIOUR. THE EXTERNAL CONTROL METHODS ARE SEPARATED FROM THE INTERNAL ONES. THE ENERGETIC ANALYSIS LEADS TO A RELATIVE EFFICIENCY CLASSIFICATION OF THE MODULATED COMPRESSORS, WHICH IS OBTAINED BY COMPARISON OF THE POWERABSORBED, AT THE SAME REDUCED CAPACITY, BY EACH OF THEM REGULATED BY ONE OF THE PREVIOUSLY ANALYSED SYSTEMS.
