Summary
This paper outlines the influence of heat pump systems on energy consumption for heating/cooling for a non-residential building located in Bucharest, Romania. The analysis refers to a geothermal heat-pump, consisting of a vertical borehole heat exchanger, coupled to a radiant heat floor system designed for a non-residential building. The thermal behavior of the heat pump system is described by means of a computer model developed under TRNSYS software. The numerical data obtained by simulations were compared with experimental data acquired on the building analyzed. The two sets of results showed good agreement. Starting from the validated model, a computer model was created and a series of simulations were performed consequently. These simulations followed the variation of the heat energy demand, energy consumption of the whole system and the variation of the performance coefficient of the heat pump system for heating and cooling. The evaluation of the results obtained from the simulations will enable both the creation of viable solutions regarding the evaluation of heat pump energy consumption and the development of the study regarding the possibility of implementing these systems for exploitation of renewable energy.
