Energy related benefit from reversible ground source heat pumps with horizontal pipes.

Intérêt énergétique des pompes à chaleurs à capteurs enterrés horizontaux reversibles.

Author(s) : BERNIER J.

Summary

There are three types of ground source heat pumps with horizontal outside pipes: ground/ground, ground/water, glycol water/water. For reversible applications, the ground/water system is the most efficient because it limits consumption of auxiliary pumping, and allows the system to work on a heat pipe cycle in Summer. Global warming was calculated over a heating season based on International Institute of Refrigeration recommendations for different refrigerants and different evaporating temperatures.
