Summary
The author reviews the specific areas of a refrigerating plant to determine irreversibilities affecting the overall energy output. For each area, he analyzes the parameters the designer can choose and their effect on output. He examines the following: the choice of temperature, how to calculate the refrigeration balance, the choice of system and all parameters that the designer can choose, such as: temperature differences at the heat exchangers, piping calculation, pressure losses, etc, not forgetting maintenance.
